One could argue this is one of it's problems. The average lifespan of any nation's constitution is 17 years since 1789. I think if we can consistently update it as time goes on we would be okay, but as you said it needs a serious overhaul and I'm fearful that it is almost impossible to do at times. Sometimes I wonder if the US should rewrite it's constitution America actually has the oldest continuously active constitution in the world. Its a well constructed document overall, but it needs a serious overhaul.
