Nah, this needs to be upvoted. Parents need to teach kids that rules are serious and they’ll be held accountable and need to take responsibility on their end. If you give them a fair heads up about when they’re expected to stop gameplay then it’s on them. Good on you for not submitting to the whining of a child; otherwise it would teach them a much worse model of how the world works.Following arbitrary rules is indeed how the world "works" but understanding the reasoning behind those rules is IMO a better lesson to learn than blindly submitting to authority.
