Unfortunately, I think it is just a by-product of how people view maintenance workers in general. And as disappointing as that is, there was probably just as many, if not more, whose carelessness came through as disrespect. Too many students who would leave their trash in public areas because they expected someone else to clean it up. These behaviors, both intentionally and unintentionally, just feed into the whole idea of, “it’s someone’s job.”
