Insurance is wild. I went through a whole thing once where I changed insurance after changing jobs, and for some reason I cannot fathom or understand, my new insurance company continued billing my first insurance company (who I was no longer covered by) and then they just kept sending me bills. It's an absolute scam, and it took nearly 3 months for them to "fix." There was nothing for them to fix. All they had to do was pay the damn bill. It could have been "fixed" with one phone call. "Do you cover x? No? So we do? Cool." done.
