It's harder for them. When you die you see them for the last time and that's it. You won't miss them. It's a much bigger problem for the people who are still alive and missing loved ones, which I think is why an afterlife is such a common belief. There might be nothing in the world scarier/sadder than the thought of never seeing the people you love again, and the afterlife is such a perfect remedy for that.The logic really doesn't check out. Yeah, you won't mind being dead when you're dead, but that doesn't change the fact that by dying you'll lose everything you are. You came from nothing, yes, but you aren't nothing anymore. You're something. And when you die you'll be losing that something.
