California loves banning things halfway. Generation 3 Glock handguns are totally fine, but generations 4 and 5 aren’t on their “approved handgun roster” or whatever. The changes are one step above cosmetic; different number of pins in the trigger, different coating on the slide, absence of finger grooves (but only on the Gen 5, the 4s still have them!), etc. Doesn’t make any amount of sense to ban one and not the other but they get to say “we did something” while also shaking down manufacturers for their annual fee to keep what guns they CAN get into the state on the Roster.
