I would say the main thing parenting is that it’s relentless. There is no such thing as taking a break, even when they are sleeping. Sleeping is when you have time to take care of the house and yourself. You can’t go out because someone has to be watching the kid. You both can’t drink/ become intoxicated because if something happens someone needs to respond to it. It’s constant and it’s that’s really difficult.
