My dad got GBS just from the flu or viral infection 20 years ago. I'm just saying, your father is not alone and it can be extremely horrible. I would also say it greatly degraded his quality of life. He has CIDP now - basically the chronic life long form and is currently fighting with insurance and taking MONTHS to get a doctor's appointment as he becomes weaker and the pain increases. Look up the swine flu vaccine of 1976, it was rushed and many got GBS. And after seeing my dad go through this for years I would hate to see a man made spike in this horrible illness.
