I think its super important that if we are outright donating to a charity, we should do our research 10000%... but you usually don't have time or options when you're in line at the grocery store or a gas station, or going to a charity event you were invited to (like 5Ks or a friend's work event), or are participating in an organization's event to raise money (like hackathons or work events). Most of the donations made by the Average Joe are by these methods. It doesn't make up the most money, but it does make up the largest number of donations we make.
