I agree in theory, but I don’t believe Pence would do it. Trump is still insanely popular among Republicans, and his approval rating is very high with those voters. Evoking the 25th amendment would be seen as a betrayal, and Trump would effectively be made a martyr among Republican voters. Pence’s days in office, and everyone who supported him, would end at the very first opportunity those voters have to get them out. I don’t believe all of those politicians would be willing to effectively fall on their swords for the good of the country.
