This is true of any religious extremist. It's not just a Catholic issue. We'd be having the same conversation if the person in question was from an orthodox/fundamentalist/extreme wing of any other mainstream religion. I think perhaps the focus should be there, rather than the religion itself, because it can get pretty ugly pretty quickly otherwise. I am pro-choice and very progressive. I've met a lot of millennial Catholics who also are of the same mind. I hate how we are seen under one blanket term when sometimes it goes much deeper than that. I'm a nurse and hope to be an NP that will NEVER deny my female patients their right to their own bodies. I can't think of any reason why I would do so even if I'm Catholic.
