You're painting catholics with a very narrow brush. I'm not catholic, or even religious, but I know a lot of catholics and many of them are far less rigid than you portray. There are gay catholics. Catholics who have had abortions. Catholics that are Democrats and Catholics that are republican. I wonder: if you made a similar statement painting Jews or Muslims in the same myopic manner, would the forum be as supportive? I grew up Catholic married a Catholic and have been around a ton of Catholics. Most all in my circle use/have used birth control, have 0 to 3 kids, are pro choice, and are liberal. For those that do attend regularly (many/most show up only at Easter and Christmas) church is something to clear the mind 45 minutes a week on Sunday.
