If OP is in the U.S. and driving her entitled son around in an old doorless jeep affects his social life that badly, then he needs a better social life anyway. It's simply not that big of a deal here. I'd bet the age of the vehicle is more the issue with the son than the make or the doors. Since age lessens the value of vehicles and the son was bullying others for arriving in "budget sedans". My point being, that as long as the car is mechanically sound (which i'm sure it is if OP can afford Jags and the like..) then there is no safety issue involved in driving him to school in it.
