Even though Anakin turned into Vader to save Padme, she still dies. Sure, theres Luke as the new hope, but if u didnt see the OT and how it ended, then Ep 3 has a very depressing ending. I was going to mention Revenge of the Sith, as well. It's a pretty dark movie, even knowing what will eventually happen later on. It'd be another 20 years (in-universe) before anyone would even have a glimmer of hope.
