This post is almost exactly what I would have written - even down to the detail of being in the Midwest (except rising taxes are changing my opinion on COL a bit over the last few years). I don’t chase bigger paychecks - I make enough to be comfortable. I don’t work long hours - I found a job that’s very much “just get your work done” and I don’t care to put in extra time for promotions that would change that status quo.
