I think the thing that got me was how badly we argued. She refused to let me take breaks. It's something I learned in therapy: if you're just going back and forth in an argument, ask for a break. She wanted to resolve things right away and said I was just procrastinating. I also felt like she wasn't negotiating when we argued. I tried to offer compromise positions but she was an all or nothing kind of attitude. So I'd offer a few compromises, they'd be rejected, I'd ask for a break, that would be rejected and on it went.
