I genuinely don't believe 95% of people who talk aloud about politics know what they're talking about. Today's media is a market. It's just the same as any normal product a company would sell. People like to see things and feel a righteous, indignant anger at it. Spotting injustice in the world makes you feel good! So media companies pitch every political headline as a way to make as many people as possible angry.
