I just had a pretty good conversation with a friend of a friend. He's pretty conservative and anti-immigration and after quite some discussion he openly admitted that he just doesn't give a fuck about people outside of his familiy and friends. If it would mean he'd have to in anyway change his life style, he'd rather have other people suffering instead, and in his eyes im an idiot for not agreeing. Whole thing was pretty depressing to me. You have almost no common ground to even base a discussion on with someone like that.
